Happy Friday everyone! I am so excited to share with you May’s featured Etsy shop, called Exploremag.
As their header logo says, they are a shop filled with “curious goods” 🙂 Based out of Austin, Texas, Exploremag stocks a variety of unique items ranging from vintage holiday themed decorations to folk art to antique toys. Owners Mike and Sammie Sloan share:
In our shop we offer quality antiques and vintage items purchased throughout the United States and France. Satisfaction is guaranteed on every item, and returns are accepted for any reason.
I love scrolling through their shop because they really do stock inventory that is not quite standard fare. Here are a few of my favorite things they currently have for sale.
You all know I love horses! This primitive child’s toy is from the 1920’s and has that awesome patina that comes from years and years of wear on the paint.
Also in their antique toy collection is this set of antique German ABC blocks.
Those bright, primary graphics are just awesome.
Exploremag also has a “Victorian” section of inventory, which is where you can find this stunning, hand-painted porcelain brooch
and lovely cast iron match holder, complete with a hand-painted floral design.
By far though my favorite section of inventory at Exploremag is their “Folk Art and Religious” section. One day I hope to own an antique Santos, and Exploremag has several in stock.
This one is from the 1800’s and is portrayed holding the Infant Jesus.
I also love this hand-painted wooden angel,
A few other things that caught my eye were this vintage French Easter basket
and these 1800’s Hungarian playing cards.
