I’m so excited to debut my new site, LostandFoundDecor.com! I have been blogging about my antique and furniture refinishing business, Lost & Found at my old site for a year now and learned so much about the blog world in that time.
However, I started to see that I had reached the peak of what I was able to do with my site on that platform. I tossed around the idea of moving to a self-hosted platform for a few weeks, but was nervous about not being able to manage the tech and time needs. Risk-taking is not my speciality.
But then a few touches with my blog idol, Marian Parson, aka Miss Mustard Seed, gave me that last little boost of confidence that I needed to take the plunge. I was stunned when I opened up my email one morning a week or so ago and see a comment from her on my Top Posts 2013 page. Not only did she take the time to check out my blog, but she called me a “true furniture artist!” Holy cow! And then, a few days later she started her own version of Craigslist on her site, The Mustard Seed Pages. I decided to post my cane chair and table set for sale on the Pages, and started receiving tons of hits on my blog. The next day, she highlighted the set on her Facebook page and more traffic came from that. Currently, the listing has been viewed over 2000 times and is the most viewed furniture ad on the site. Wow. Thank you Marian!
So what does this mean for Lost & Found? Hopefully, this blog will just continue to get better! More posts highlighting my fun vintage finds, more furniture makeovers and how-to’s, more decor ideas and tips. I so appreciate all of you who stop by and I hope you will enjoy the new site as much as I am.
