Wow, it has been a whirlwind these past few days!  I told you all about the giant haul of furniture I scored over the weekend off of Craigslist . . . Well I was able to get one piece basically finished over the weekend, with the exception of having new hardware.  I don’t want to show you the full picture until it’s 100% ready to go, but I can give a little sneak peek. Before that though, it’s time to announce the winner of the Wholemade by Jen product package giveaway, Anna H! Thank you so much to all of you visited, entered, and shared the giveaway.  Anna, I will be in touch with you soon via email to get your address. Now, here is that peek of the cute little waterfall chest of drawers I refinished: I painted it in two coats of Annie Sloan Provence, with the top coat mixed with 2 parts Old White.  A little bit of the darker shade peeks through in places, giving the piece a really neat layered look. I’m happy with how the hand painting turned out also.  Once I get the new knobs, I think it will be perfect. Now that it’s finished, I can turn to the full french provincial bedroom set.  Unfortunately, all furniture makeovers are on hold for the remainder of the week, as well as any more blog posting. I need to share with you all that yesterday there was a death in my family.  My uncle passed away in very tragic circumstances, and my family is grieving his loss greatly.  I will be leaving town tomorrow to travel to be with my family for the rest of the week and weekend, so there will be no more news from Lost & Found until next week. I appreciate you all staying with me and being patient, and also remembering my family in prayer as we work through the loss of my uncle. Everybody hug your loved ones a little bit tighter tonight, and I’ll see you all next week.

Melanie – I am so sorry for your loss and wish your family strength and reliance on each other as you get thru this difficult time.
And the work you did on the dresser looks absolutely amazing. I always shy away from the waterfall style furniture because I don’t happen to like the style, but what you have done may have converted me! You’ve shown me the potential and it looks incredible!
Thank you for opening my eyes, and prayers to you.
Thank you Delia, for both your comforting words and furniture encouragement. I too am not the biggest fan of the waterfall style, so I was happy to find a way to remake it a little more to my taste. You should try one too 🙂
Prayers for you and your family. Be safe on your journey.
Thank you so much Donna. I so appreciate it.
