Have you ever shopped on Etsy?  It is a fantastic place!  I love the convenience of hunting online for certain unique and creative items, and Etsy is full of them!  Etsy shops are limited to selling items that fall into one of three categories:  handmade, vintage, or craft supplies. Since it’s “opening” in 2005, Etsy has grown into a viable marketplace for the small business owner, and has become the go-to shopping destination for many people searching for that perfect item to finish out their collection or craft project..
I love small businesses (I am one myself!), so I thought showcasing some of my favorite Etsy shops would be a fun way to support other small businesses and share more great finds with Lost & Found’s readers. So beginning today and continuing on the 1st Friday of each month, I am going to introduce a different Etsy shop as a monthly feature. To kick things off, please let me introduce you to Kelly of Southern Gilt. Hi, I’m Kelly! I’m a stay at home mom of four southern children, ranging in age from 9 to 15. I love hunting for vintage and antique treasures. I adore wood, metal, silver, enamelware, paper, linens and ironstone. I don’t play favorites. Oh wait, yes I do! I have a love affair with ironstone! I get butterflies in my stomach when I come across a piece of really old ironstone. Did I mention that I love ironstone? Rusty and chippy are my favorite colors… and white ironstone with some great crazing, of course. I enjoy digging for treasures and finding them a new home with my Etsy customers. I would keep them all, but my sweet and patient husband might find a new place to live. So, instead I’ve decided to share them with you! I hope they bring you as much joy as they bring me. Southern Gilt has so many fantastic items for sale;  I absolutely love Kelly’s style.
She’s serious when she says she loves ironstone;  look at this gorgeous tall tureen she has for sale! And y’all know how I love my flow blue!  This is the piece that first drew me to Kelly’s shop, and I have been stalking it for a few months now. If it’s still for sale after our Disney trip later this month, I plan on making it mine 🙂
Kelly also stocks unique little treasures, like this wooden ring box: Is that not adorable?
And this needlepoint tin is fantastic also. Â I found my own needlepoint tin last month at Canton . . . it made a quick exit from my shop! Â I love how these tins are kind of a tease.
There is much, much more to see in Southern Gilt’s store! Â Please take a few minutes to browse through her delightful collection. Â If you need more motivation to shop, as a treat for Lost & Found readers, Kelly has offered a 15% discount for any Lost & Found follower through the end of September! When checking out, use the promo code LOSTANDFOUND15.
This post just keeps getting better . . . Kelly also generously offered to give away one of her antique ironstone pitchers as a part of her 1st Friday Etsy Feature! Yay! We all love giveaways 🙂

This is going to be a very “dangerous” shop for me! I favorited the shop, but I really have my eye on the blue/white tureen. I’m swooning! I can imagine pairing her items to stage with my repurposed furniture on Etsy. Don’t you think some her finds need to meet mine!:)
