Friday’s Furniture Fix #40

Hi friends!  What kind of projects have you been working on this week? I’ve been doing some things around the house and working on freshening up my antique booth space.  I have two furniture projects waiting in the wings, and I hope I can get started on those next week!

It’s almost Friday though, which means welcome to week #40 of Friday’s Furniture Fix!

Let’s take a look at the four features we have from this week’s party.

Greg from The Navage Patch delivered again by sharing this stunning desk makeover with us.  His post walks through an incredibly detailed tutorial on how he added those burled wood veneer sheets.  I am truly in awe of how beautiful this desk turned out!!

Next up is a very differently styled piece, but no less beautiful 🙂  Jenny from Refresh Living took a tired oak dresser and made it fresh and fun again by painting the body in chalk paint and refinishing the solid wood top.  I love the play of the white and blue against that beautiful wood–great job Jenny!

You know those old, giant radio cabinets you keep coming across at estate sales?  Well, don’t overlook them any longer!  Carrie from Thirty-Eight Street showed us how to take the old speakers out and refurbish the cabinet base into a modern, media cabinet! You have to check out the “before” of this piece to truly appreciate how amazing it looks now 🙂

Refinished Media Console 1036

Lastly Kayla from Painted shared a tutorial on how to get the perfect, glossy finish, including a list of all the tools and supplies you’ll need for the project.  And look at that amazing, faux-bamboo cabinet she made over!

Hi Melanie, I enjoy receiving your makeovers. When I learn how, I am going to send you a picture of a trunk , I refuse to get rid of. I really believe it can be "fixed" up and I think you can give me good instructions on how to do it. Is this something that you would do?
