Each host will pick 2 projects to feature each week, so let’s get started!
We’ll start this week with Susie. Her first pick goes to Christina at Phoenix Restorations for her Basset Sideboard Makeover. Christina painted this piece in a custom mix of colors, which creates a totally unique piece! Step on over to her blog to get the color recipe.
Her next pick is the Black Country Bench from Re-Do-It Yourself Inspirations. This bench was a yard sale find, and I think you will agree that it is now very country-chic.
Lucy’s first pick is from Karen and Somewhat Quirky Designs. Karen layered on five different colors of paint on this piece, using several different techniques, to get this beautiful old-world finish. Check out her post for details on how she got this look!
Lucy’s next pick is a build project from Mindi at My Love 2 Create. Mindi build an X-Arbor Bench for her garden, and shares the step-by-step plans so you can make one of your own. I am super impressed!
My picks are opposites of each other–one is black, and one is white! Let’s start with the black piece, which is the Refinished Antique Desk from A Junkchick Life. This wood desk was beaten up, but Paige lovingly brought it back to life. I’m so glad she chose to re-stain the wood top rather than paint the whole piece–that wood is gorgeous and it plays off the black base perfectly.
And now the white piece! Mary from Orphans with Makeup shared another fantastic dresser makeover, as well as a little info about diamond-point style furniture. My favorite thing about this piece though is that Mary distressed it perfectly! No random, big sanded spots, just some fine sanding along the edges to expose the lines of the piece. She is a pro!
