Lighting Giveaway and Announcement!

I have a thing for lighting.  For me, the kind of lighting in a space makes a big impact on how I feel when I’m in there.

For example, big, bright, overhead flourescent lights make me want to crawl into a hole and never come out.

Soft, glowing table lamps make me want to curl up and read a good book.

Shiny, glamorous chandeliers make me want to dance the waltz.

Is anybody with me?

Paying attention to the lighting in a space is a really important step in any room design plan. Luckily, if you’ve messed up that step before or inherited room lighting you don’t like, changing it isn’t that hard. Simple lighting switches can go a long way towards changing the entire feel of a room.

Given my slight obsession with lighting, you can imagine that I was pretty excited when the online lighting store, ParrotUncle.com contacted me about helping promote their shop.

I wasn’t familiar with ParrotUncle, so I took some time to browse their online inventory.  I saw so many lamps and fixtures that I loved! Like this wooden pendant chandelier:

 

and this adjustable metal floor lamp (which I really want to get for my office area makeover!)

 

I think my favorite section of their shop though is their extensive pendant light section. ParrotUncle.com has many more pendant lights in various styles (glass, wood, modern, etc) to browse through, many at 50% off.

Swapping out a recessed light or plain, flushed mount ceiling light for a pendant light is a super easy–and often inexpensive–major style update.

My Exciting Announcement!

So now onto the announcement portion of this post . . . After the first of the year I will be releasing an Ebook!

I have been working on writing this for about 8 months now, and we are in the final stages of formatting.  I have received soooooo many questions over the (almost) 4 years of running this blog about how I started my furniture business, so I decided to compile everything I have learned into one, simple resource. I have already shared it with a few people and have been so encouraged by their thoughtful reviews and comments.

One reader said she felt like she now knew everything she needed to know and was finally ready to take the first step in starting her own furniture flipping business.
