Christmas Gift Ideas for the DIY-er

Sharing is caring!

I remember the days when I used to have ALL of my Christmas gift shopping done before Thanksgiving.

Ha!! Those days are long gone though now . . . If you’re anything like me, you will be spending the next two weeks scratching your head, trying to figure out what to get for the people you love in your life.

Sometimes your loved ones are pretty easy to buy for, sometimes not so much!

Don’t get me wrong–I love Christmas gift giving!  It’s just that as I’ve gotten older it seems my brain has lost some of its creative gift-finding power.

Well,  I can’t help with all of your gift-giving needs, but I can offer a few suggestions if you have a DIY’er on your list.

Whether they’re a builder, a painter, or a crafter, I have a few ideas for you.

For the Builder . . .

Shop here–Personal Tool Kit My absolute most favorite gift I received last Christmas was my own toolkit.

Rather than raiding my husband’s toolbox for his hammers and screwdrivers, I now have a bag of all my own, super-cute, pink tools.

Shop here–Work Gloves I love my work gloves!

I didn’t realize how beat up my hands got while working on my projects until I got a set of gloves for myself.  I don’t think I could live without them now.

Shop here–Orbital Sander I have shared before about how handy my orbital sander is–it’s become one of those essential tools I use in almost all of my projects.

It’s a great power tool for someone who is a little power-tool shy because it’s so so so easy to use. Christmas gift ideas for the DIY'er

For the Painter . . .

Shop here–New Paint to Try I really enjoy trying out new paint colors and finishes, but constantly purchasing new paint to try out can be pricey.

A great gift for the painter would be a set of new paint colors to try or even a totally new product.

Fusion sells little tester pots of all colors for only $4.99 a piece.

Wouldn’t it be fun to put together 4 or 5 testers for your paint lover?  Shop here!

Fusion Mineral Paint tester sizes--great gift for the painter!

I also really like working with milk paint.

Try picking out a beautiful color of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint for your painter so they can experiment with a completely new paint and finish.  Shop here!

Shop here–A Nice Brush I’m pretty frugal, and so for a long time didn’t want to invest in a boutique brand paint brush. But let me tell you, I have come to really like my high-quality Fusion and Staalmeester brushes.

A Fusion brush along with a container of 100% natural Fusion Brush Cleaner would be a wonderful gift for anyone who likes to paint!

For the Crafter . . .

Shop here–Glass Glitter Yes, this glitter is pretty high dollar for glitter, but it really is amazing!

Anyone who crafts would really enjoy playing with this beautiful product.

Feeling inspired at all?  I hope so! I can say personally I would be delighted to receive any of these as gifts–So if you know someone who is DIY crazy like me, there’s something on this list for them.

I have been following you for quite a while on Facebook and love your design style. I also have pinned many of your things on Pinterest. Fusion Paint is going to be a lifesaver for me. With severe asthma and allergies, I struggle to find a good product without a smell! I want to start doing more small projects around the house, but have no idea what to purchase. Thank you, Melanie, for helping me choose great products! I hope I win!
